Jema ~ Lacy Garter Stitch Baby Blanket
Requirements:
DK yarn
4.5mm needles
Tension:
19sts = 4”
Sizes:
Baby ~ 28” wide ~ cast on 134sts
Premature
Baby ~ 14¼” wide ~ cast on 68sts
Angel
Baby Burial Blanket ~ 8½” ~ cast on 41sts
Instructions:
Cast on 134sts
(or the number stitches required for different sizes as suggested above
– or in multiples of 3)
Border ~
Rows 1 – 6: S1, knit to end
Now work in pattern ~
Row 1: S1,
k3, * k1, yo, k2 tog, repeat from * to
last 4sts, k4
Row 2: Same
as Row 1
Rows 3 - 6: S1, knit to end
The last 6 rows form the pattern
Repeat these 6 rows until the blanket
is the size required- finish after completing a 6th Row
(I like to make blankets a little longer than the width - but this is just my personal choice)
Complete with a border ~
Knit 3 more rows
Cast off
Darn away ends
