Tia -  Doll’s Dress – for a 14” (36cm) baby doll

Worked from the top down

 

Requirements:

DK yarn ~ around 28g - 30g of acrylic DK

4mm needles

A small button

 

Tension / Gauge:

22sts = 4” (10cm)

 

Instructions:
Cast on 33sts

Knit 2 rows

Row 3:             K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row

Knit 3 rows

Row 7:             K5, * kfb, k2, repeat from * till last 4sts, k4                                        41sts

Knit 3 rows

Row 11:           K5, * kfb, k3, repeat from * till last 4sts, k4                                        49sts

Knit 3 rows

Row 15:           K6, * kfb, k4, repeat from * till last 3sts, k3                                        57sts

Knit 3 rows

Row 19:           K6, * kfb, k5, repeat from * till last 3sts, k3                                        65sts

Knit 3 rows

Row 23:           K7, * kfb, k6, repeat from * till last 2sts, k2                                        73sts

Knit 4 rows


Divide for sleeves:   

Row 28:           K3tog, k9, cast off 15sts, k18, cast off 15sts, k8, k3tog

Row 29:           K10, cast on 4sts, k19, cast on 4sts, k10                                           47sts

Row 30:           *K1, kfb, repeat from *  to last st, k1                                                  70sts

Knit 2 rows     

Row 33:           Knit

Row 34:           S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 11 times more     (it is easy to adjust the length here if desired)

Knit 4 rows

Row 61:         S1, knit into front & back of every stitch across row until last 2sts, k2

                        OR Knit this row for a straight border

Cast off knitwise

 

Sew up the back seam – from the lower edge, up to the garter stitch top part – and include the first three ridges.  

Darn away ends.  

Sew on a small button to correspond with the buttonhole on the neck border.
