LITTLE CHAY Easy Pullover Sweater


Little Chay Easy Pullover Sweater


This sweet little pullover sweater is knitted in one piece, with just 2 short side seams and sleeve seams to join.

Perfect for dolls and teddies. Add a sweet little bow for extra cuteness ! 


CHAY Easy Pullover Sweater                     Extra - Small Premature

Size:

Width -               10”

Length -              5” 

Sleeve length -    2”

 

Requirements:                      

DK yarn ~ around 20g – 25g of acrylic DK               

4mm needles 

                                                             

The Front

Cast on 27sts

Work 6 rows in garter stitch (knit every row)

Work 18 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row)

Cast on 12sts, knit to end

Cast on 12sts, knit to end

Knit 7 rows

(wrong side)  K19, cast off 13sts, k18

Continue on the 19sts for the left front  ~

Knit 5 rows.  Cut off yarn

 

Continue on right front ~

Rejoin yarn

Knit 5 rows

 

Continue for the back ~

Next Row:       K19, cast on 13sts, then knit the 19sts for the left front        

Knit 14 rows  

Cast off 12sts at beginning of next 2 rows

Work 18 rows in stocking stitch

Knit 7 rows

Cast off

 

Join side and sleeve seams   

Darn away ends.

Requirements:                      

DK yarn ~ around 25g – 30g  of acrylic DK  

4mm needles 

                                                       

The Front

Cast on 31sts

Work 6 rows in garter stitch (knit every row)

Work 20 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row)

Cast on 15sts, knit to end

Cast on 15sts, knit to end

Knit 9 rows

(wrong side)  K23, cast off 15sts, k22

Continue on the 23sts for the left front  ~

Knit 5 rows.  Cut off yarn

 

Continue on right front ~

Rejoin yarn

Knit 5 rows

 

Continue for the back ~

Next Row:       K23, cast on 15sts, then knit the 23sts for the left front        

Knit 16 rows  

Cast off 15sts at beginning of next 2 rows

Work 20 rows in stocking stitch

Knit 7 rows

Cast off

 

Join side and sleeve seams   

Darn away ends.

Requirements:            

DK yarn ~ around 35g - 40g of acrylic DK                

4mm needles                                                          

 

The Front

Cast on 35sts

Work 8 rows in garter stitch (knit every row)

Work 24 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row)

Cast on 17sts, knit to end

Cast on 17sts, knit to end

Knit 11 rows

(wrong side)  K27, cast off 15sts, k26

Continue on the 27sts for the left front  ~

Knit 7 rows.  Cut off yarn

 

Continue on right front ~

Rejoin yarn

Knit 7 rows

 

Continue for the back ~

Next Row:       K27, cast on 15sts, then knit the 27sts for the left front        

Knit 20 rows  

Cast off 17sts at beginning of next 2 rows

Work 24 rows in stocking stitch

Knit 9 rows

Cast off

 

Join side and sleeve seams  

Darn away ends.

DK yarn ~ around 40g - 45g of acrylic DK    

4mm needles 

 

The Front

Cast on 40sts

Work 8 rows in garter stitch (knit every row)

Work 28 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row)

Cast on 19sts, knit to end

Cast on 19sts, knit to end

Knit 15 rows

(wrong side)  K31, cast off 16sts, k30

 

Continue on the 31sts for the left front  ~

Knit 7 rows.  Cut off yarn

 

Continue on right front ~

Rejoin yarn

Knit 7 rows

 

Continue for the back ~

Next Row:       K31, cast on 16sts, then knit the 31sts for the left front        

Knit 24 rows   

Cast off 19sts at beginning of next 2 rows

Work 28 rows in stocking stitch

Knit 9 rows

Cast off

 

Join side and sleeve seams

Darn away ends.

 

Bow

For Extra – Small and Small Preemie sizes ~ Cast on 10sts

For Medium and Large Preemie sizes ~ Cast on 12sts

Berenguer Style 5" Baby Doll's Dress and Hat

 Berenguer Style Baby Dolls are very popular - they have such cute and lifelike expressions. And their chubbiness is so appealing! 

These simple little dresses and hats are sure to be popular too!

Small amount DK yarn

4mm needles

 

Tension / Gauge ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)


Dress

Cast on 20sts

Row 1:             Knit

Row 2:             K4, (kfb 3 times), k5, (kfb 3 times), k5                                    (26sts)

Row 3:             Knit

Row 4:             K5, cast off 3sts, k9, cast off 3sts, k4                                      (20sts)

Row 5:             K5, cast on 3sts, k10, cast on 3sts, k5                                    (26sts)

Knit 3 rows

Row 9:             K2, * kfb, k2, repeat from * to end                                           (34sts)

Row 10:           S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 11:           Knit

Row 12:           S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows twice more

Knit 3 rows

Cast off

 

 

Hat

Cast on 22sts

Knit 2 rows

Row 3:             Knit

Row 4:             S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 3 times more 

Row 11:           K2tog all across the row                      (11sts)

Row 12:           S1, purl to last st, k1

Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’ to use for sewing up

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining loops and secure

Sew up side seam and darn away ends.

Do you like to make outfits for dolls?

If so, you will probably want to make some little pants. 

I have added instructions for 3 sizes - the smallest fits this cute 5" baby doll.

Requires ~

Small amount DK yarn

4mm needles

 

Tension / Gauge ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)

 

Size 1           for a 5” Baby Doll

 

Measurements ~

Width:           2” across, 4” all around

Height:          1½“

 

Instructions ~

Cast on 11sts

Row 1:          Knit

Row 2:          Knit

Row 3:          S1, knit to end

Row 4:          S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 5:          K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog                 9sts

Row 6:          S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows once more                               7sts

Row 9:          K2tog, k2tog, k1, k2tog                          4sts

Row 10:        S1, p2, k1

Row 11:        Kfb, kfb, kfb, k1                                     7sts

Row 12:        S1, purl to last st, k1
