Danika Newborn Baby Hat

 
Requirements ~

DK (8ply) yarn

4mm needles

4.5mm needles
 
Tension ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)

Measurements ~

Width:           6” (12” all around)    

Height:          5½”

Pattern Instructions ~

Using 4.5mm needles cast on 57 stitches
 

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 8 rows

9th Row:        S1, k1, * yrn, k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts; repeat from * to last st, k1
10th Row:       S1, purl to last st, k1
11th Row:      S1, * k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts, yrn; repeat from * to last 2sts, k2
12th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last 4 rows four times more

Continue using 4mm needles ~

29th Row:      S1, knit to end

30th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Shape Crown

1st  Row:        (K5, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1               49sts
2nd, 4th,6th,8th ,10th Rows:  S1, purl to last st, k1
3rd  Row:       (K4, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1               41sts
5th  Row:       (K3, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1               33sts
7th  Row:       (K2, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1               25sts
9th  Row         (K1, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1               17sts
11th Row        (K2tog) repeat to last st, k1                        9sts

Cut off yarn, leaving a tail. Thread tail onto a needle and pass through remaining stitches. Pull to gather up.

Sew side seam. Weave in ends.



Danika Newborn Baby Mittens

Requirements ~

DK (8ply) yarn


4mm needles

4.5mm needles

Measurements ~

Width:          2" (5cm), 4" (10cm) all around 
Length:         4" (10cm)

Using 4.5mm needles cast on 21 stitches

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 6 rows

7th Row (eyelets):  S1, yrn, k2tog, * k1, yrn, k2tog, repeat from * to the end
8th Row:        S1, knit to end
9th Row:        S1, k1, * yrn, k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts; repeat from * to last st, k1
10th Row:       S1, purl to last st, k1
11th Row:      S1, * k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts, yrn; repeat from * to last 2sts, k2
12th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last 4 rows twice more

Continue using 4mm needles ~

21st Row:       S1, knit to end

22nd Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat last 2 rows twice more

Shape the top ~

Next Row:     S1, *k2tog, k1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2tog            14sts

Next Row:     S1, purl to last st, k1

Next Row:     *K2tog all across row, to last st, k1                              7sts
Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining stitches and secure

Sew up side seam and weave in ends

Make a crochet chain or use a pretty ribbon to thread through the eyelet holes, tie in a bow




Danika Newborn Baby Booties  

Requirements ~

DK (8ply) yarn


4mm needles

4.5mm needles

Measurements ~

Length of sole:         3½” (9cm)

Instructions ~          Make two booties the same

Using 4mm needles cast on 36sts

Knit 9 rows

10th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

11th Row:      S1, k14, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k15

12th Row:      S1, p13, p2tog tbl, p2, p2tog, p13, k1

13th Row:      S1, k12, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k13

14th Row:      S1, p11, p2tog tbl, p2, p2tog, p11, k1

15th Row:      S1, k10, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k11

16th Row:      S1, p9, p2tog tbl, p2, p2tog, p9, k1                             

17th Row:      S1, k8, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k9                     22sts

18th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1                                                 

19th Row:      S1, knit to end

20th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2rows once more

Knit 2 rows

25th Row:      K2tog, knit to end                                             21sts

Continue using 4.5mm needles ~

 
26th Row:      S1, k1, * yrn, k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts; repeat from * to last st, k1

27th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

28th Row:      S1, * k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts, yrn; repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

29th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

30th Row:      S1, k1, * yrn, k3, slip the first stitch of these 3sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts; repeat from * to last st, k1

Cast off LOOSELY purlwise

Sew seam along the sole

Sew back seam

Darn away ends

Fold down cuff
