  9. Cute pattern and not hard at all - except it would be very helpful to have a stitch count on increase rows!!

  13. This pattern looks great for my year10 students to try, however the S1 at the beginning of the row looks messy when thèy do it. Any ideas?

  14. Bring the yarn forward and slip the first stitch purlwise.
Take the yarn back and continue knitting normally.
At the end of each row, knit the last stitch through the back loop. :)

  22. This is a lovely cardigan but the numbers don't add up - a stitch count would really help. On row 7 we have instructions for 59 stitches but we have cast on 67. I made the cardigan but it came out too small (14 inches) and I had to make a gusset under the arms to ease putting on. Sorry to grump, when someone is kind enough to share, but it is frustrating to waste time trying to work out what was intended.

    1. I hope you worked it out...notice your comment was written last Oct! But thought I'd write this anyway as I've just made it (twice!) and it's such a lovely shape, this might be helpful for other people...I wrote in the number of stitches on my pattern as I went. Instructions on row 7 do add up to 67...I think you might have missed the word NEXT on each increase stitch...your 59 + those 8 stitches on which you work the increases makes 67. At the end of row 7 you'll have 75 st; end of row 9 - 83 st; end of row 11 - 91 st; end of row 13 - 99 st; end of row 15 - 107 st; end of row 17 - 115 st; end of row 19 - 123 st;end of row 21 - 131 st; end of row 23 - 139 st; end of row 25 - 147.

  27. MARIANNA, I made my first one of these little sweaters and just love it. Like so many others in the above comments I would love to have it available in larger sizes. Have you updated the sizes available? I haven't found them yet if you have. If you haven't, I would love to talk to you about sizing this pattern out further. Can you contact me in some way...I am on facebook and would likely catch a PM there if you message me. I am also on Ravelry and can be contacted there. I think grannyscraps on ravelry will reach me, too.

  28. Should the first few rows be the garter stitch? Mine looks like the seed stitch or something?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi Marianna. I haven't knit for 20 years and now that I'm a grandma 7 times over I figure its time I start knitting again. I'm trying to do the shortsleeved cardigan but am having trouble just starting it off. It's not looking like the garter stitch; I must be missing something. Mine comes out looking like seed stitch or something. Oh yea is S1 slip 1? Thank you

    ReplyDelete
  30. The pictures look great, however the stitch count isn't correct. If you start out with 67 stitches and do row 7 of the 4 button version, after all the increases you have 67 stitches worked and 10 unworked. Were we supposed to start out with 57, which would give you 67 at the end of row 7 after 10 increases?

  31. This is so cute, wish it came in a bigger size.

  32. Hello, has anyone worked out how to make this cardigan bigger, I guess it would be an increase in casting in stitches and sleeve stitches ( sorry I'm a new to knitting and this is my first project). Thanks.

  33. I was so pleased with the 1-button cardi in pale green, I've also made it in white...then I recommended it to a friend who also downloaded it and has made it (both daughters are expecting!) Just found the 4-button version on here and I now intend to make that in the 17" size...I'd love it in even bigger sizes if you get around to designing it!!!! Such a lovely shape. Many, many thanks - a super little pattern that I shall make again and again.

  42. Marianna, I really love your patterns. I'm a "former" knitter. Haven't done any knitting since my kids were babies - 40+ years ago. Now that I'm retired, I am planning to make sweaters and hats for a local charity. I also appreciate that there are spaces between each row of instructions so that these tired, old eyes don't have to strain. Thank you so much.
