Friday Night Mystery Knit ~ #2

Many knitters enjoyed my first mystery kit a few weeks ago ~ so I thought I would do another one ~
hope you enjoy the pattern.

GRACE Baby Hat



Tension    22sts = 4” (10cm)

 
Newborn – 3 months  Baby Hat           12″ circumference,   5½ - 6“ high

 

DK yarn ~ around 12-14g

4mm needles

 

Cast on 66sts 

Knit 6 rows


Row 7:          S1, knit to end

Row 8:          S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 9:          S1, knit to end

Row 10:        S1, purl to last st, k1

 

Row 11:        S1, k1, k2, * yon, k2tog, k6, repeat from * to last 6sts, yon, k2tog, k4

Row 12:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 13:        S1, k1, *yon, k2tog, k2, repeat from * to end

Row 14:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 15:        S1, k1, k2, * yon, k2tog, k6, repeat from * to last 6sts, yon, k2tog, k4

Row 16:        S1, purl to last 2sts, k2tog                                65sts         


Row 17:        S1, knit to end

Row 18:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 5 times more

1st  Row:        (K6, k2tog tbl ) repeat to last st, k1                    57sts
2nd, 4th,6th,8th,10th  Rows:  S1, purl to last st, k1
3rd  Row:       (K5, k2tog tbl) repeat to last st, k1                    49sts
5th  Row:       (K4, k2tog tbl) repeat to last st, k1                    41sts
7th  Row:       (K3, k2tog tbl) repeat to last st, k1                    33sts
9th  Row:       (K2, k2tog tbl) repeat to last st, k1                    25sts
11th Row        (K1, k2tog tbl) repeat to last st, k1                    17sts
12th Row        (P2tog) repeat to last st, k1                                 9sts


Cut yarn (leaving a long ‘tail’ to use for sewing up), draw the end through all stitches, pull up tightly.
Sew up the seam.  Darn away ends.

Cut off yarn, leaving a tail.

Thread tail onto a needle and pass through remaining stitches. Pull to gather up.

Sew side seam. Weave in ends.

 


Large Premature / Small Newborn Baby Hat           10½″ circumference, 4¾“ high

DK yarn ~ around 10-12g

4mm needles

 

Cast on 58sts 

Knit 4 rows

 

Row 5:          S1, knit to end

Row 6:           S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 7:           S1, knit to end

Row 8:           S1, purl to last st, k1

 

Row 9:           S1, k3, * yon, k2tog, k6, repeat from * to last 6sts, yon, k2tog, k4

Row 10:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 11:        S1, k1, *yon, k2tog, k2, repeat from * to end

Row 12:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 13:        S1, k3, * yon, k2tog, k6, repeat from * to last 6sts, yon, k2tog, k4

Row 14:        S1, purl to last 2sts, k2tog                      57sts

 

Row 15:        S1, knit to end

Row 16:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 4 times more
