BONNIE Handwarmers

These are the simplest of handwarmers ever !



Bling them up ~ or leave them plain


Choose garter stitch borders or rib.......



Bonnie ~ DK Handwarmers

Size:
Width                   3 ¼ “,  (6 ½ “ all around)
Length                 6”

Requirements:
DK yarn                               22sts = 4” (10cm)
4mm needles

Pattern Instructions:


Ribbed  Version                              (Make two the same)

Cast on 35sts, leaving a tail to use for joining

Knit 8 rows in rib

9th Row:               S1, knit to end

10th Row:            S1, purl to last stitch, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows until the work measures 5” from the cast on edge

(If you want to make these longer  - it is easy to adjust the length here).

Knit 7 rows in rib

Cast off in rib, leaving a tail to use for joining


Fold rectangle in half with the borders at the top and bottom. Using the cast on tail, join the sides up to 2.5 inches. This is the bottom of the mitten. Using the cast off tail, seam the sides up to 1.5 inches for the top of the mitten. This should leave a 2-inch gap for the thumb.




Darn away ends

Add a decoration if desired.
