MAX Baby Cardigan with Cabled Front

Max Baby Cardigan with cabled fronts
Max is a cute little baby cardigan designed with a cabled front.
I have also added instructions if you want to make this without the cables :) 
For a baby of around 0 - 3 months.

                     c4f = cable 4sts frontways = slip 2sts onto a cable pin and hold at front of work, knit next 2sts, then k2sts from cable pin
                    c4b = cable 4sts backways = slip 2sts onto a cable pin and hold at back

DK yarn
4mm needles
6 small buttons

Tension ~

Long Sleeves ~ Both Alike

Put the 30sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.
With right side facing –
Row 1           Knit into front & back of first st,  knit to last st,  knit into front & back of last st
Row 2           S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 3              S1, knit to end of row
Row 4              S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat last two rows until 4½” (11.5cm) have been worked from armhole, ending after completing a wrong side row
With right side facing –
Knit 5 rows
Cast off

If you want a tighter cuff~ 
Next Row    K3, *k2tog, k4, repeat from * to last 5sts, k2tog, k3                 27sts
Knit 4 rows
Cast off


Make the second sleeve in the same way
Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms
Darn away ends
Sew on buttons

  13. Hi, I'm going to knit 9-12 months pattern as gift for a baby (now he's 3 months years old), and I'd like to make the cable version for the next Autumn, using 3,5 mm needles. I printed the Max baby cardigan with eyelet raglan, but I'm not sure where I have to insert the cable on the front. Please, can you help me? Many thanks (sorry for my not good English!). P.S.: I'd be happy to make this gift, because the baby will come back to China in September
