Aran Weight Stashbuster Knee Blanket

I had a quite a lot of 'bits' of aran weight yarn in my stash and never seemed to find a project for using it -
so I decided to make a simple granny square knee blanket to keep an elderly lady's knees warm.

I made a centre panel in bold colours, alternating with cream, then continued with alternating rounds of beige & cream,
before finishing off with a bold border.

This has been a satisfying project - I am happy with the result -
Margaret loved her blanket
and I used up 498g of aran yarn from my stash.

  1. The blanket looks great. That was very nice of you to crochet it for Margaret - I'm sure she will love using it. :)

  5. Very beautiful, Marianna, and a perfect stashbuster, too!! Knee blankets have a very good size. I also have such a square one for myself and like to use it in the evenings when sitting in my cosy armchair and knitting or crocheting while watching TV ;-).
    Have a nice weekend!!
