Size:

Width – 14ʺ - 16ʺ when stretched out

Length – 6½ʺ (easy to adjust)

 

Requirements:

DK yarn - around 20g - 22g

4mm needles

 

Instructions:

The Back and The Front are the same - Make 2 pieces

Cast on 38sts

Row 1:  S1, p1, * (k2, p2), repeat from * to last 4sts, k2, p1, k1

Row 2:  S1, k1, * (p2, k2), repeat from * to last 4sts, p2, k2

Repeat the last 2 rows 15 times more

Cast off 2sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows                   (34sts)

Row 35:  S1, k1, p2, * (k2, p2), repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

Row 36:  S1, p1, k2, * (p2, k2), repeat from * to last 2sts, p1, k1

Row 37:  S1, k1, p2, k2, p2, k2, cast off 14sts, k1, p2, k2, p2, k2

(You should now have 10sts for a shoulder strap – a gap for the neck – and 10sts for a shoulder strap)

 

Working on the first shoulder strap –

Row 1:  S1, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1, k1

Row 2:  S1, k1, p2, k2, p2, k2

Row 3:  S1, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 3 times more

Cast off knitwise (or leave the stitches on a spare needle for a 3-needle cast off)

 

Rejoin yarn to second shoulder strap –

Row 1:  K1, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1, k1

Row 2:  S1, k1, p2, k2, p2, k2

Row 3:  S1, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 3 times more

Cast off knitwise (or leave the stitches on a spare needle for a 3-needle cast off)

 

Join side seams and shoulder seams

Darn away ends

Add a small ribbon rosebud or bow if you wish
