Kinzie Baby Blanket

Tension:
22sts = 4” (10cm)

Requirements:
DK yarn, less than 100g for the smallest 2 sizes
4mm needles  

Size:

Width ~
For a doll / small preemie baby blanket of 16”              Cast on 88sts
For a preemie baby blanket of 18”                               Cast on 99sts
For a large preemie baby blanket of 20”                       Cast on 110sts
For a newborn baby blanket of 24”                              Cast on 132sts
For a baby blanket of around 28”                                Cast on 154sts

Length ~ Make your blanket square, or a little longer than it’s width.

Pattern:
Using 4mm needles and DK yarn cast on 88sts or the number of stitches suggested above for the size you wish to make

Knit 8 rows

9th Row:              Knit
10th Row:            S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6
11th Row:            Knit
12th Row:            Knit

Repeat last 4 rows until your blanket is the length you require (around the same length as the width of your blanket), ending after working a 12th Row

Next Row:           Knit

Next Row:          S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6


Knit 9 rows
Cast off
Darn away ends

ETHAN Baby Hat

 I have just finished knitting a cute little hat for a new baby called Ethan. 
I liked the simplicity of it ! ..... so I made a few more in different sizes. 





Ethan Hat               6 months                    

Size:

Width:    6½“ (16.5cm),   13” (33cm) all around 

Height:   6¼“ (16cm)

 

Requires:

DK yarn ~ around 20g

4mm needles

 

Pattern:

Cast on 72sts

1st Row:           S1, * k2, p2, rep from * to last 3sts, k3

2nd Row:           S1, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 4 times more

11th Row:         S1, knit to end

12th Row:         Kfb, knit to end                                                             (73sts)

13th Row:         S1, knit to end

14th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows nine times more

 

Shape the top ~
1st  Row:          (K6, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1                                     (64sts)
2nd, 4th,6th,8th,10th  Rows:  S1, purl to last st, k1
3rd  Row:          (K5, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1                                     (55sts)
