I finished a new little baby blanket today - 

15" x 15" for a premature baby

I really enjoyed knitting this. 

Jordan Baby Blanket

Requires ~

DK yarn   around 70g

4mm needles

Size ~

Width – 15”

Length – 15”

Tension / Gauge ~

24sts = 4” (10cm), as worked over pattern

Instructions ~

Cast on 88sts

Knit 10 rows (for border)

11^th Row:         Knit

12^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

13^th Row:         Knit

14^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

**

15^th Row:         K6, *(p4, k4), repeat from * to last 10sts, p4, k6

16^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

Repeat the 15^th & 16^th Rows three times more

23^rd Row:         Knit

24^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

25^th Row:         Knit

26^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

27^th Row:         K10, *(p4, k4), repeat from * to last 6sts, k6

28^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

Repeat the 27^th & 28^th Rows three times more

35^th Row:         Knit

36^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

37^th Row:         Knit

38^th Row:         S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

**

Repeat from ** to ** three times more (or as many times as you like till you are happy with the length of your blanket). 

Repeat the 15^th – 24^th Rows once more

Knit 9 rows (for border)

Cast off

To make this blanket bigger you will need to cast on 88 + (multiples of 8)

For an 18"preemie blanket cast on 104sts

For a 24” newborn baby blanket cast on 144sts

For a 30” baby blanket cast on 176sts

...........and continue until your blanket is square, or a little longer than its width.

If you would like to make this blanket in more than one colour ~ 

change colour on rows 13, 25, 37 ......... and every 12 rows
