Bibi Baby Blanket

This is a lovely stitch pattern to knit

 - it looks pretty -

and after a couple of pattern repeats it is easy to remember.

Size:
Width:             ~          18 “

Length:            ~          19”

Tension:
22sts = 4” (10cm)

Requirements:
Around 90g of DK yarn

4mm needles  

Pattern:

 

Cast on 94sts

1st Row:          S1, knit to end

Repeat the last row 8 times more

10^th Row          S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

11^th Row:         S1, k4, * k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, s1, k1, psso, k1, repeat from * to last 5sts, k5

12^th Row:         S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

13^th Row:         S1, k4, *k2tog, yo, k3, yo, s1, k1, psso, repeat from * to last 5sts, k5

14^th Row:         S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

15^th Row:         S1, knit to end of row

16^th Row:         S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

Repeat 11^th – 16^th rows until the blanket is the length required (around 18”), ending after completing a 14^th row

Next Row:       S1, knit to end

Repeat the last row 8 times more

Cast off

Darn away ends

 

If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~

then reduce or add in multiples of seven stitches

........ for a Newborn Baby Blanket of around 24 - 25“

Such a cute little garment!
I have been meaning to write a pattern for something like this for a long time.

These shortie dungarees look great worn over a long or short sleeved T-shirt

Great for a boy or a girl

Pattern includes 5 sizes ~
6 - 9months baby
3 - 6months baby
0 - 3months baby
large premature baby
medium premature baby (or doll)

Requires ~
DK yarn (50g for smallest size, 100g for largest size)
4mm needles
2 small buttons

To make a Hexagon Motif ~

These instructions use UK terminology

ch = chain              tc = treble crochet

Use a medium weight yarn. I made these with DK yarn and a 3.5mm hook.

Worked in the round

 

Using Pink

Chain 4 stitches and join with a slip stitch into a ring.

Round 1:   ch2, make 11tc into ring, slip stitch to join (12sts)

Round 2:   ch2 then 2tc in same stitch, ch3, *miss a stitch, 3tc in next stitch, ch3, repeat from * all around, join with slip stitch

(You will now have 6 clusters of 3stitches)

Cut off pink yarn

 

Using White

Round 3:   starting in a chain space from the previous round, ch2 then 2tc in same stitch, ch2, 3tc in same space, * 3tc in next space, 2ch, 3tc in same space, repeat from * all around, join with slip stitch.

Cut off white yarn

One of my friends asked me if I would be able to find time to knit a couple of pairs of premature baby booties in a hurry! She wanted to gift them to a new mum who has just had tiny twins.

The new mum's request was  "No fuss, no frills, no ribbons, no bows, no buttons - just plain simple booties."

I hope these fit the brief! They are now wrapped up ready for my friend to collect tomorrow.

Neat Little Feet Baby Booties           Medium Premature Baby

Length of sole:        3¼” (8.5cm)

Instructions:           Make two booties the same

Using DK yarn & 4mm needles, cast on 35sts

1^st Row:        Knit 14, k2tog, k3, s1, k1, psso, k14

Work 7 rows in stocking stitch, starting with a purl row

9^th Row:        K13, k2tog, k3, s1, k1, psso, k13

10^th Row:      P12, p2tog tbl, p3, p2tog, p12

11^th Row:      K11, k2tog, k3, s1, k1, psso, k11

12^th Row:      P10, p2tog tbl, p3, p2tog, p10

13^th Row:      K9, k2tog, k3, s1, k1, psso, k9

14^th Row:      P8, p2tog tbl, p3, p2tog, p8                            

15^th Row:      K7, k2tog, k3, s1, k1, psso, k7                         (19sts)

16^th Row:      Purl                                           

17^th Row:      Knit

18^th Row:      Purl

Rib 17 rows

Cut off yarn

Join in contrast colour and knit 1 row

Cast off loosely – use a larger size needle, or a stretchy cast off

Sew seam along the sole

Sew back seam

Darn away ends

Work 10 rows in stocking stitch

12^th Row:      P13, p2tog tbl, p4, p2tog, p13

13^th Row:      K12, k2tog, k4, s1, k1, psso, k12

14^th Row:      P11, p2tog tbl, p4, p2tog, p11

15^th Row:      K10, k2tog, k4, s1, k1, psso, k10

16^th Row:      P9, p2tog tbl, p4, p2tog, p9                            

17^th Row:      K8, k2tog, k4, s1, k1, psso, k8                         (22sts)

18^th Row:      Purl                                           

19^th Row:      Knit

20^th Row:      Purl, increasing 1 stitch at end of row               (23sts)

Rib 19 rows

Cut off yarn

Join in contrast colour and knit 1 row

Cast off loosely – use a larger size needle, or a stretchy cast off

Sew seam along the sole

Sew back seam

Darn away ends

Fold down cuff

Instructions:           Make two bootees the same

Work 12 rows in stocking stitch

14^th Row:      P15, p2tog tbl, p5, p2tog, p15

15^th Row:      K14, k2tog, k5, s1, k1, psso, k14

16^th Row:      P13, p2tog tbl, p5, p2tog, p13

17^th Row:      K12, k2tog, k5, s1, k1, psso, k12

18^th Row:      P11, p2tog tbl, p5, p2tog, p11

19^th Row:      K10, k2tog, k5, s1, k1, psso, k10

20^th Row:      P9, p2tog tbl, p5, p2tog, p9                             (25sts)

21^st Row:      Knit

22^nd Row:     Purl

Rib 21 rows

Cut off yarn
